Central banks in New Zealand and India are poised to announce their latest policy decisions on Wednesday, October 9.
The Reserve Bank of New Zealand's announcement is scheduled for 21:00 ET on Tuesday, October 8. Under the leadership of Governor Adrian Orr, the RBNZ's Monetary Policy Committee is largely anticipated to reduce the official cash rate by 50 basis points, bringing it down to 4.75 percent. The previous adjustment was a 25 basis point reduction in August, as officials evaluated that inflation trends were aligning with the target.
Meanwhile, the Reserve Bank of India will reveal its policy decision at 00:30 ET on Wednesday, October 9. Led by Governor Shaktikanta Das, the RBI Monetary Policy Committee is largely expected to maintain the repo rate at 6.50 percent, consistent with the stance taken in August. The central bank has kept interest rates steady since April of last year, with policymakers remaining vigilant about inflation concerns.
