DuPont recently lodged a formal complaint with the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) against companies including Xiamen Dangsheng New Materials and its affiliates, as well as Jiangsu Qingyun New Materials and their affiliates. The aim is to halt the importation of products that infringe upon DuPont’s intellectual property associated with its Tyvek brand.
The ITC is an authority responsible for examining and making decisions in cases where imports are alleged to damage a domestic industry or infringe upon U.S. intellectual property rights. DuPont is seeking the ITC's intervention to explore these claims and issue a general exclusion order that would prevent the entry of any infringing products into the United States.
This exclusion order would encompass all instances where infringing materials are imported, whether they are standalone products or components of processed or finished goods.
