BMW Group announced on Thursday that its sales of fully-electric vehicles surged by 19.1% during the first nine months of 2024, totaling 294,054 BEVs (Battery Electric Vehicles) delivered to customers.
Throughout this period, BMW's brand saw a 22.6% increase in sales of its fully-electric models, amounting to 266,151 vehicles. Meanwhile, the MINI brand experienced a 54.3% growth in fully-electric vehicle sales during the third quarter, delivering 16,536 BEVs to customers.
Jochen Goller, a member of the BMW AG Board of Management responsible for Customer, Brands, and Sales, commented, "Our fully-electric vehicles are winning over customers worldwide, as evidenced by the significant double-digit growth in our BEV sales during the first nine months of the year."
He added, "We also achieved growth in our sales in the Europe region. Our appealing model lineup, designed for technology openness, gained traction in the market, despite the overall challenging conditions. The BMW brand captured greater market share in Europe and significantly outperformed the region's overall market."
In Europe, the BMW brand delivered 577,803 vehicles between January and the end of September, marking a 7.6% increase, with particularly strong demand in the UK, Italy, and France.
