Solventum (SOLV), previously operating as 3M Health Care, has pledged to transition completely to renewable electricity for its global operations by 2030. Since 2021, Solventum has already converted ten manufacturing sites in the United States, Canada, Germany, Poland, and France, allowing renewable energy to contribute to 48% of its total electricity usage. The company is on track to elevate this proportion to 80% by 2025, marking a considerable progression towards its 2030 target. This strategic move towards renewable energy is anticipated to result in a 45% decrease in scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, compared with 2021 levels, effectively reducing the carbon footprint equivalent to taking 20,000 cars off the road.
