FX.co ★ Nokia, Telecom Operator VNPT In Deal To Deploy 5G In Vietnam

Nokia Oyj, a prominent Finnish telecommunications company, announced on Monday its collaboration with Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) to implement 5G technology in Vietnam.

Tommi Uitto, the President of Mobile Networks at Nokia, highlighted that the introduction of 5G will provide advanced communication solutions that will facilitate Vietnam's transition into a digital era. Nokia is also engaging in local manufacturing of its 5G products within Vietnam.

Under the agreement with VNPT, Nokia will install cutting-edge equipment from its 5G AirScale portfolio, utilizing the energy-efficient ReefShark System-on-Chip technology. This technology promises exceptional connectivity, minimal latency, increased network capacity, and reduced energy consumption.

Additionally, Nokia plans to implement its AI-driven 5G MantaRay network management solution to significantly enhance VNPT's network operational efficiency.

VNPT's CEO, Huynh Quang Liem, stated, "Our partnership with Nokia will enable VNPT to quickly establish a world-class 5G network, meeting the rising needs of our customers in Vietnam. 5G will lay the groundwork for economic growth and societal advancement in Vietnam, expediting its pathway toward becoming a digital economy."
