FX.co ★ Honeywell, Google Cloud To Accelerate Autonomous Operations With AI Agents For Industrial Sector

Honeywell International, Inc. (HON) announced a strategic partnership with Google Cloud, a segment of Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL, GOOG), aimed at integrating artificial intelligence with assets, personnel, and processes to promote safer and more autonomous operations in the industrial sector.

The collaboration anticipates that Google Cloud’s AI technology will significantly enhance Honeywell's product offerings and facilitate workforce upskilling. The first suite of solutions developed through this partnership is set to be made available to Honeywell clientele by 2025.

The partnership will integrate the multimodal and natural language capabilities of Gemini on Vertex AI, Google Cloud's AI platform, with extensive datasets from Honeywell Forge, an Internet of Things (IoT) platform tailored for industrial applications.

As a result, Honeywell’s customers within the industrial sector can expect reduced maintenance costs, elevated operational productivity, and enhanced employee skillsets.

Honeywell has highlighted the dual challenges of labor and skills shortages currently afflicting the industrial sector, emphasizing AI's potential role as a revenue-enhancing element.

According to Honeywell’s 2024 Industrial AI Insights report, over two-thirds—specifically 82%—of leading figures in Industrial AI consider their organizations as early adopters of AI. However, only 17% have fully implemented their initial AI initiatives.

Honeywell anticipates that its alliance with Google Cloud will furnish AI agents that not only augment current operations but also aid in advancing workforce capabilities, thereby fostering AI adoption.
