Vivendi, the French media giant, announced on Tuesday that its revenues for the third quarter soared by 95.8%, reaching 4.750 billion euros, up from 2.426 billion euros in the same period last year. When adjusted for constant currency, the revenue increase stands at 95.6%, and when further adjusted for constant currency and perimeter, the growth is 2.3%.
The company attributed this revenue surge primarily to the integration of Lagardère's operations into its financial results.
Yannick Bolloré, Chairman of Vivendi's Supervisory Board, along with CEO Arnaud de Puyfontaine, remarked on the robust growth seen in the first nine months of 2024. They noted a 4.5% increase in Group revenues at constant currency and perimeter compared to the same period in 2023. Specifically, Canal+ recorded revenue gains across its entire portfolio. The impressive performance at Havas was largely driven by Havas Media along with contributions from the Europe and Latin America markets. Lagardère reported significant growth, fueled notably by the success of Lagardère Publishing's editorial ventures and a substantial near 17% rise in Lagardère Travel Retail's revenues.
