Mitsubishi Motors Production Drops, Domestic Sales Rise In Sept., H1

Mitsubishi Motors Corp., a leading Japanese automobile manufacturer, announced on Wednesday that their total production in September amounted to 84,563 units, reflecting a decrease compared to the previous year. In terms of geographical production details, domestic production stood at 42,263 units, while overseas production was slightly higher at 42,300 units. Both figures show a reduction from last year's numbers.

Despite this decline in production, domestic sales saw a modest increase of 1.2 percent compared to the previous year, totaling 11,819 units. However, total exports for the month fell to 19,465 units.

Assessing the performance over the first half of the fiscal year, total production fell to 442,907 units, indicating a decline from the prior year figures. Domestic production accounted for 227,762 units, and overseas production contributed 215,145 units, with both sectors experiencing a downturn.

On a positive note, domestic sales recorded a significant growth of 10.3 percent year-over-year, reaching 53,126 units. Similarly, total exports saw a rise, increasing by 4 percent to 116,579 units.
