FX.co ★ Italy Jobless Rate Steady At 6.1%

Italy's unemployment rate remained at a nearly seventeen-and-a-half-year low in September, as reported by ISTAT, the national statistical office, on Thursday.

The unemployment rate was steady at 6.1 percent in September, unchanged from the revised figure of the previous month. This figure was slightly below economists' projections of 6.2 percent.

In comparison, the unemployment rate was 7.7 percent in the same month of the previous year. This marks the weakest unemployment rate since June 2007, when it was recorded at 6.0 percent.

Meanwhile, the employment rate experienced a marginal decline, slipping to 62.1 percent from 62.3 percent.

Youth unemployment saw a slight increase, registering at 18.3 percent in September, up from 18.1 percent in August.
