On Wednesday, the Swiss market closed with a slight decline, after spending most of the trading session in negative territory.
The primary index, the SMI, decreased by 8.28 points, marking a 0.07% drop to settle at 11,703.81. During the day, the index fluctuated between a low of 11,616.57 and a high of 11,722.73.
Shares of Adecco fell nearly 2%, while Givaudan, Partners Group, and VAT Group recorded losses ranging from 1.3% to 1.6%. Other decliners included SIG Group, Sika, Geberit, Straumann Holding, Lindt & Sprüngli, Julius Baer, and Sonova, with each dropping between 0.8% and 1.1%.
Conversely, Swiss Life Holding appreciated by 1.52%, and Sandoz Group saw a rise of 1.46%. Richemont and Zurich Insurance experienced gains of 1.29% and 1.01%, respectively.
Additionally, Schindler Ps, Kuehne + Nagel, Swatch Group, ABB, and Holcim ended the day on a positive note.
SoftwareOne shares surged nearly 8% following the company's affirmation of its 2024 revenue growth projection, anticipated to be in the range of 2% to 5%, calculated in constant currency terms.
Alcon saw a modest increase after it announced a 6% year-over-year rise in third-quarter net sales, reaching $2.43 billion.
