J & J Snack Foods (JJSF) has reported a decline in its fourth-quarter profit compared to the same period last year, falling short of Wall Street expectations.
The company recorded a net income of $29.6 million, or $1.52 per share, which is slightly down from $30.4 million, or $1.57 per share, in the fourth quarter of the previous year.
After adjusting for certain items, J & J Snack Foods posted earnings of $1.60 per share for the quarter.
On average, analysts, as surveyed by Thomson Reuters, had anticipated earnings of $1.84 per share, not taking into account any special items in their estimates.
Revenue for the quarter experienced a 3.9% decline, dropping to $426.756 million from the previous year's $443.863 million.
