Australia Jobless Rate Steady At 4.1% In October

The Australian Bureau of Statistics reported on Thursday that the unemployment rate in Australia remained steady at a seasonally adjusted 4.1 percent in October, aligning with prior predictions and unchanged from September.

In terms of employment figures, the Australian economy saw the creation of 15,900 jobs, falling short of the anticipated 25,200 new positions and a significant drop compared to the 64,100 jobs added in September.

Breaking down the employment types, full-time employment saw an increase of 9,700, reaching a total of 10,037,700 individuals. Part-time employment rose by 6,200, bringing the number of part-time workers to 4,499,800.

The participation rate was recorded at 67.1 percent, slightly below the forecast of 67.2 percent, at which it would have remained unchanged. Meanwhile, the total monthly hours worked climbed to 1.972 billion.
