Alstom SA, a leading European manufacturer of rolling stock, has announced a significant rise in net profit attributable to the group for the first half of the 2024/25 fiscal year. The profit increased to 53 million euros, up from 1 million euros during the same period last year.
The company's adjusted net profit, which reflects earnings from continued operations excluding purchase price allocation and tax-adjusted impairments, reached 224 million euros in the first half of 2024/25, compared to 174 million euros in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Furthermore, Alstom's Adjusted Earnings Before Interest and Taxes (aEBIT) experienced an 18% increase, totaling 515 million euros.
Sales for Alstom reached 8.775 billion euros in the first six months of the 2024/25 fiscal year, marking a 3.9% growth on a reported basis and an impressive 5.6% growth on an organic basis when compared to the same period last year.
Additionally, Alstom secured 10.9 billion euros worth of orders during this period.
The company has emphasized its ongoing focus on the progress of several projects that are in the initial phases, with an anticipated output of between 4,400 to 4,600 units for the entire fiscal year, despite challenges in the supply chain.
Alstom has reaffirmed its guidance for organic sales growth of approximately 5% for the fiscal year 2024/25.
