FTSE 100 Marginally Higher In Lackluster Trade

On a quiet economic day, U.K. stocks showcased stability on Monday. The FTSE 100 index experienced a slight lift, trading at 8,071, following a minor decline of 0.1% on Friday.

Melrose Industries, which owns GKN Aerospace, observed a 9% surge in its shares. This came after the company reported a 7% increase in revenue for the four months ending October 31, while maintaining its optimistic outlook for the remainder of the year.

Halma's shares increased by 0.5%. The safety equipment manufacturer announced its acquisition of the French firm Lamidey Noury Medical for approximately £42 million.

Despite receiving approval from the EU for its lung cancer medication, AstraZeneca's shares dipped by over 1%.

Elementis saw a 1% rise in its shares after disclosing that CEO Paul Waterman plans to step down, ending his nine-year tenure with the specialty chemicals company.
