Texas Pacific Land To Replace Marathon Oil In S&P 500

S&P Dow Jones Indices, a branch of S&P Global (SPGI), has announced a series of changes to its indices. Beginning before the market opens on Tuesday, November 26, Texas Pacific Land Corp. (TPL), currently a part of the S&P MidCap 400, will be added to the S&P 500, replacing Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO). Additionally, Mueller Industries Inc. (MLI), which is part of the S&P SmallCap 600, will take Texas Pacific Land's spot in the S&P MidCap 400. In turn, Atlas Energy Solutions Inc. (AESI) will join the S&P SmallCap 600, replacing Mueller Industries.

Meanwhile, ConocoPhillips (COP), which is already listed in the S&P 500 and S&P 100, is moving forward with its acquisition of Marathon Oil. This transaction is anticipated to be finalized on November 22, contingent upon the fulfillment of remaining closing conditions.
