Japan Consumer Prices Rise 2.3% On Year In October

Consumer prices in Japan increased by 2.3% year-over-year in October, as reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications on Friday. This figure aligns with market expectations and reflects a slight decrease from the September rate of 2.5%.

On a seasonally adjusted month-to-month basis, overall inflation rose by 0.4%, surpassing the anticipated 0.2% increase and rebounding from the 0.3% decline observed in the previous month.

The Core Consumer Price Index (CPI), which excludes the often unpredictable prices of food items, also reported a year-over-year rise of 2.3%. This was slightly higher than the anticipated 2.2% but showed a decline from the previous month’s 2.3%.
