FX.co ★ First Foundation Appoints Thomas Shafer As CEO

First Foundation Inc. (FFWM), a prominent financial services entity, announced the appointment of Thomas Shafer as its new Chief Executive Officer this past Friday. In his expanded role, Shafer will also assume the duties of CEO at First Foundation Bank, a subsidiary of FFWM.

This leadership transition comes on the heels of Scott Kavanaugh's retirement, who has been at the helm of FFWM since 2009, overseeing significant growth and development.

Prior to this role, Shafer held the position of Co-President of Commercial Banking and Senior Executive Vice President at Huntington Bancshares Inc. This followed the company's merger with TCF Financial Corporation in June 2021, with Shafer holding his position until December 2022.
