Sensex, Nifty Marginally Lower In Early Trade; PSU Stocks Outperform

In early trading on Wednesday, Indian shares showed a lack of clear direction, mirroring the mixed signals from other Asian markets as uncertainty lingered over President Trump's tariff strategies.

Additionally, the recent minutes from the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) revealed that U.S. monetary policy decisions remain flexible and are dependent on economic developments and their impact on the economic outlook and risk balance.

The benchmark Sensex, comprising 30 shares, saw a decline of 61 points, settling at 79,942, while the broader NSE Nifty index fell by 30 points to 24,164.

Notable decliners included Tata Consumer Products, Bharti Airtel, Tata Steel, Cipla, and IndusInd Bank, each experiencing a roughly 1 percent drop.

Conversely, PSU stocks showed gains, with BEL and Coal India both appreciating by approximately 1.5 percent.
