Sensex, Nifty Rebound Sharply; Airtel And Pharma Stocks Top Gainers

Indian equities rebounded on Friday after experiencing significant declines the previous day due to the Futures & Options (F&O) expiry. The S&P BSE Sensex, a key benchmark, surged by 759.05 points, equating to a 0.96% increase, to close at 79,802.79. This recovery followed its steepest two-month drop on Thursday. Meanwhile, the broader NSE Nifty index concluded the week's final trading session with a gain of 216.95 points, or 0.91%, settling at 24,131.10.

In notable movements, Bharti Airtel's stock jumped 4.4% after it received an upgrade to 'buy' from ICICI Securities. Other significant gainers included Tata Consumer Products, Mahindra & Mahindra, Cipla, and Sun Pharma, each climbing between 2% and 3%.

Conversely, Power Grid Corporation and Shriram Finance both experienced declines of approximately 1%.

Enviro Infra Engineers made an impressive market debut, listing with a 49% premium over its IPO price, although profit-taking later in the session reduced its stock price by 6%. Additionally, Easy Trip Planners saw its shares soar over 10% as it went ex-bonus.
