Malaysia Trade Surplus Grows In November

In November, Malaysia's foreign trade surplus showed a year-on-year increase, spurred by exports outpacing imports, as revealed by data from the national statistical office on Wednesday.

The trade surplus advanced to MYR 15.3 billion this November, an improvement from MYR 12.1 billion in the same period last year, and also growing from MYR 11.9 billion recorded in October.

This growth in exports was marked by a 4.1 percent annual rise, primarily due to a robust 10.3 percent escalation in domestic exports. Conversely, re-exports declined by 18.7 percent during the same period.

Additionally, imports experienced a slower growth rate of 1.6 percent annually, compared to a 2.7 percent increase in October.

Taking seasonal adjustments into account, exports rose by 2.0 percent on a month-to-month basis, while imports saw a 2.5 percent decline.
