China PMI Data Due On Tuesday

China is set to release December figures for its manufacturing, non-manufacturing, and composite PMI indexes via the National Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday, underscoring a relatively light day for economic activity across the Asia-Pacific region. These indices stood at 50.3, 50.0, and 50.8, respectively, in November.

In South Korea, December's consumer price data is scheduled for release, with expectations pointing to a month-on-month increase of 0.2% and an annual rise of 1.7%. This comes after a decline of 0.3% from the previous month and a 1.5% year-on-year gain in November.

Australia will share November's housing credit figures, following a 0.5% monthly increase observed in October.

It's important to note that financial markets in South Korea, Japan, and Thailand are closed on Tuesday for New Year's Eve, while those in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Hong Kong will close early in observance of the holiday.
