Thomson Reuters Corporation, listed as TRI and TRI.TO, announced on Thursday its acquisition of cPaperless, LLC, which operates under the name SafeSend, for $600 million in cash. SafeSend, a cloud-native technology provider for tax and accounting professionals in the United States, was established in 2008. The company focuses on automating the final stages of the tax return process, including assembly, review, taxpayer e-signature, and delivery. Based in Michigan, SafeSend employs 235 people. Elizabeth Beastrom, President of Tax, Audit, and Accounting Professionals at Thomson Reuters, stated, "Every decision we make at Thomson Reuters is driven by the needs of our customers and their clients. This acquisition reaffirms our dedication to addressing the changing challenges encountered by both tax professionals and taxpayers."
