Slovenia Business Bankruptcies Rise At Slower Pace In November

In November, Slovenia saw a deceleration in the rise of business bankruptcies compared to the previous month; however, they remained over 50 percent higher than a year earlier, as indicated by preliminary data from the statistical office released on Thursday.

The number of companies filing for bankruptcy in the sectors of industry, construction, and services grew by a seasonally adjusted 8.2 percent from October, a month in which bankruptcies had surged by 20.7 percent. This marked the second consecutive month of rising business bankruptcies. Compared to the same month in the prior year, business bankruptcies saw a substantial increase of 54.0 percent in November, following a 38.1 percent rise in October.

Conversely, the number of newly registered businesses in November experienced a slight seasonally adjusted decline of 0.4 percent from October, when there had been a 1.4 percent increase. Year-on-year, business registrations decreased by 3.8 percent in November, following a 4.5 percent drop in the preceding month.
