Japan Household Spending Slips 0.4% On Year In November

Household spending in Japan experienced a slight decrease of 0.4% year-over-year in November, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. The expenditure was reported at 295,518 yen, surpassing predictions of a 0.6% decline after a 1.3% reduction in October. On a seasonally adjusted basis, monthly household spending increased by 0.4%, exceeding expectations, which anticipated a 0.9% decline following a 2.9% rise in the previous month. Meanwhile, the average monthly income per household increased to 514,409 yen, marking a 0.7% rise compared to the previous year.
