Ericsson Q4 Profit Climbs, Lifts Dividend - Quick Facts

Swedish telecommunications leader, LM Ericsson, reported on Friday a substantial increase in net income for the fourth quarter, reaching 4.88 billion Swedish Kronor, a 43% rise from the previous year's 3.41 billion Kronor. The earnings per share also experienced growth, climbing to 1.44 Kronor from 1.02 Kronor in the prior year.

The company's EBITA rose to 8.6 billion Kronor, compared to 6.7 billion Kronor the previous year. The adjusted EBITA stood at 10.2 billion Kronor, up from last year's 8.2 billion Kronor, with the adjusted EBITA margin improving significantly to 14.1% compared to 11.4% the year before.

Ericsson's sales saw an increase, totaling 72.9 billion Kronor, up from 71.9 billion Kronor in the preceding year. Organically, sales grew by 2%, with a notable 54% growth in the North America market. Sales in Europe and Latin America also saw an upward trajectory, while other regions experienced significant declines.

Additionally, the company's Board of Directors has announced its intention to propose a dividend for 2024 of 2.85 Kronor per share, an increase from last year’s 2.70 Kronor per share, at the upcoming Annual General Meeting.
