Collins Aerospace Awarded Up To $904 Mln Follow-On Contract By U.S. Navy

Collins Aerospace, an RTX Corp. subsidiary, announced on Wednesday that it has secured a renewed contract valued at up to $904 million over the next five years. This contract will enable Collins Aerospace to continue its work on developing the U.S. Navy's Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC). The CEC is an advanced system that integrates a variety of sensors deployed across different platforms—including surface, land, and air—facilitating sophisticated Integrated Fire Controls.

Since 1985, RTX has been the exclusive provider of the CEC, with this latest contract succeeding an existing five-year Design Agent contract. The CEC is a pivotal network for the U.S. Navy, linking multiple platforms and their sensors. It provides comprehensive tracking to enhance combat readiness and optimize weapons systems.

Under this new contract, Collins Aerospace will enhance the CEC by incorporating new features, such as improved interoperability, expanded weapon and sensor coordination, and the integration of novel data sources. To date, Collins has successfully deployed and sustained the CEC across more than 174 platforms, including those of the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and international partners.

The contract offers considerable opportunities and flexibility, allowing for future task orders geared towards additional engineering activities that will further advance the CEC's mission capabilities.
