Liberty Energy Inc. (LBRT) has announced the appointment of Ron Gusek as its new Chief Executive Officer and as a member of its Board of Directors. In addition, the Board has designated William Kimble as the non-executive Chairman.
These leadership changes coincide with Chris Wright's confirmation as U.S. Secretary of Energy. Wright, the founder of Liberty Energy, has played a pivotal role as Chairman, Director, and Chief Executive Officer since the company's founding in 2011.
Gusek has been serving as President of Liberty since November 2016, after joining the company in 2014 as Vice President of Technology and Development. Before his tenure at Liberty, Gusek held the position of Vice President of Corporate Engineering and Technology at Sanjel Corporation, a global energy services firm. He has also held prominent roles at Zodiac Exploration, an exploration and production company based in California's central San Joaquin Valley, and Pinnacle Technologies, a fracture diagnostic services firm established by Mr. Wright.
Kimble has been a Board member since Liberty's initial public offering in January 2018, and he has served as Lead Director from October 2018. With a career that began at KPMG in 1986, Kimble held several senior positions over his more than 30-year tenure until retiring in 2015. Currently, Kimble sits on the board of directors and chairs the audit committee of Northern Oil and Gas. Previously, he was on the DCP Midstream Board of Directors, where he served as Chair of the Audit Committee and was part of the special committee from June 2015 until October 2023.
