GlobalFoundries (GFS) announced on Wednesday that its Chief Executive Officer, Thomas Caulfield, will be stepping down to assume the role of Executive Chairman.

Simultaneously, the company has named Tim Breen as the new Chief Executive Officer and Niels Anderskouv as Chief Operating Officer. These leadership changes will be effective starting April 28.

Tim Breen previously held the position of Chief Operating Officer at GlobalFoundries, while Niels Anderskouv has had an extensive career in executive roles at Texas Instruments.

In pre-market trading on the Nasdaq, GlobalFoundries is currently priced at $40.41, reflecting a decrease of 0.35 percent or $0.14.
