Lithuania Industrial Output Slows in February

In February 2025, Lithuania's industrial production saw an increase of 8.3% compared to the same month the previous year. This growth rate, although slightly lower than the revised peak of 8.9% witnessed in January, continues a notable trend of eight consecutive months of industrial expansion. However, this growth decelerated particularly in the sectors of mining and quarrying, which saw a substantial decline in growth from 53.6% in January to 2.4%, and in manufacturing, where growth eased from 10.3% to 7.3%. Conversely, there was a significant recovery in the output of electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply, which surged by 22.5% after experiencing a 7.6% drop previously. Meanwhile, the decline in the water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services sectors reduced to just 0.2% compared to the previous 2.6% decrease. On a month-to-month adjusted basis, industrial activity fell by 1.5% in February, following a previously revised 4.4% increase.
