The Chicago Business Barometer, also known as the Chicago PMI, increased to 47.6 in March 2025, up from 45.5 in the preceding month, exceeding market predictions of 45.2. This recent data indicates that Chicago's economic activity has been contracting for the 16th consecutive month, albeit at the most gradual rate since November 2023.
