The seasonally adjusted Absa Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) for South Africa increased to 48.7 in March 2025, up from 44.7 in February. This marks the mildest contraction in a sequence of five consecutive months of decline. The business activity sub-index saw an improvement, driven by a recovery in demand supported by export sales.
