In February 2025, Spain welcomed approximately 5.4 million international tourists, registering a 7.7% increase compared to February 2024 and establishing a new record for that month. The United Kingdom had a significant presence, contributing one million visitors, which represents a 6.8% rise from February of the previous year. France was not far behind, with 719,366 tourists marking a considerable 15.9% increase. Germany also played a part, sending 616,766 tourists, reflecting a modest 4.1% growth. Over the initial two months of 2025, tourist numbers grew by 6.9%, reaching close to 10.5 million. Most tourists stayed between four to seven nights, totaling nearly 2.6 million—a year-over-year rise of 5.6%. There was a notable 15.8% uptick in daytrippers (non-overnight visitors), and tourists who stayed longer than 15 nights saw an increase of 2.6%. The Canary Islands emerged as the leading tourist destination in February, attracting 26.8% of the visitors, followed by Catalonia with 21.1%, and Andalusia at 14.4%.
