US Natural Gas Storage Rises More than Expected

During the week ending March 28, 2025, US utilities increased their natural gas storage by 29 billion cubic feet, surpassing market predictions of a 27 billion cubic feet addition. This increase signifies the third straight week of growth in US natural gas stockpiles. The most significant rise occurred in the South Central region with an addition of 33 billion cubic feet, followed by the Pacific with an increase of 10 billion cubic feet, and the Mountain region with a 2 billion cubic feet rise. Despite these increases, current storage levels are 21.7% lower than at the same time last year and are 4.3% below the five-year average.
