In February 2025, Hungary experienced an 8.7% year-on-year decline in industrial production, following a 3.9% decrease in January, according to preliminary estimates. This marks the tenth straight month of reduced industrial output and the most significant decline since August 2024. The downturn was predominantly driven by reduced output in major manufacturing sectors, notably in vehicle and electrical equipment production. However, the production of computers, electronics, optical products, and food, beverages, and tobacco showed a less severe decline. On a seasonally adjusted month-to-month basis, industrial output fell by 1.3% in February 2025, contrasting with a 0.8% increase in the previous month.
