Car exports from Mexico experienced a 3.8% increase in March 2025 compared to the previous year, reaching 296,964 units. This rise followed a 9.2% decline in shipments in February. The growth in exports was driven primarily by key brands such as Toyota, which saw a 43.6% increase to 25,529 units, Ford with a 26.8% rise to 37,235 units, and General Motors, up by 12.6% to 74,063 units. Conversely, there was a decrease for brands like Volkswagen, which fell by 26% to 19,801 units, Mazda with a 20.1% drop to 11,596 units, and Nissan, which decreased by 14.2% to 41,020 units. Over the first quarter of 2025, exports overall declined by 6%, amounting to 775,866 units. The United States remained the largest destination for these light vehicle exports, comprising 83% of the total exports, followed by Canada, which accounted for 8.6%.
