Poland Trade Balance Swings to Deficit in February

In February 2025, Poland experienced a trade deficit of €919 million, a significant shift from the €109 million surplus recorded during the same month in the previous year. This decline in the trade balance largely resulted from a 1.4% decrease in exports, which dropped to €27.24 billion. The transportation sector notably contributed to this weakness, alongside a reduction in shipments of supply goods, consumer durables, and capital goods. Conversely, export growth in the agricultural sector was observed, spurred by increased food prices in the global market. Simultaneously, imports rose by 3.7%, reaching €28.16 billion, primarily fueled by stronger demand for consumer goods and agricultural products.
