In March 2025, Moldova experienced a year-on-year increase in producer prices by 4.7%, up from a 3.4% rise in the previous month. This represents the most significant annual hike in producer prices since October 2023. The surge was primarily influenced by a substantial increase in prices for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply, which soared by 25.1%, compared to 9.8% in February. Additionally, manufacturing prices experienced a quicker growth rate, climbing 2.3% compared to 1.9% in the preceding month. Conversely, the pace of cost increases for the mining and quarrying sector decelerated, with prices rising 11.2% as opposed to 12.3% previously. On a month-to-month basis, producer prices rose by 0.6%, a slowdown from the 1.1% increase observed in February.
