In March 2025, Morocco experienced a deceleration in its annual inflation rate, which dropped to 1.6% from the 15-month peak of 2.6% observed in February. This represents the slowest inflation rate since December of the previous year. Notably, the price increases for food and non-alcoholic beverages were the lowest in three months, growing by only 2.3% compared to 4.7% in February. Additionally, there was a reduction in price growth for clothing and footwear (1.0% compared to 1.1%), miscellaneous goods and services (1.7% compared to 1.8%), and alcoholic beverages and tobacco (2.3% compared to 2.9%). Furthermore, the cost of transport decreased more significantly (-2.4% compared to -1.7%), as did the costs related to recreation and culture (-0.5% compared to -0.1%). On a monthly scale, consumer prices experienced a decline of 0.3% in March, marking the first decrease in three months and countering the 0.3% increase recorded in February.
