In March 2025, Mexico's unemployment rate dropped to 2.2%, compared to 2.3% in the same month the previous year, and fell below the market forecast of 2.4%. This marks the lowest unemployment rate in the historical data series starting from 1994. The number of unemployed individuals decreased by 39,000, bringing the total to 1.4 million. Simultaneously, the number of employed people fell by 88,000, totaling 59.9 million. The economically active population saw a decline of 128,000, resulting in 61.1 million individuals, while the non-economically active population increased by 1.3 million to reach 41.9 million. When seasonally adjusted, the unemployment rate edged down to 2.6% in March from 2.7% in the previous month.
