Montenegro's trade deficit expanded to EUR 313.9 million in March 2025, compared to EUR 286.1 million in March of the previous year. On an annual basis, exports climbed by 24.3% to reach EUR 53.2 million, while imports saw an increase of 11.6%, totaling EUR 367.2 million. Analyzing the period from January to March 2025, exports decreased slightly by 0.5% compared to the same timeframe the previous year, amounting to EUR 150.1 million. This decline was largely influenced by a significant reduction in sales of manufactured goods categorized primarily by material (-45.7%), beverages and tobacco (-42.9%), and machinery and transport equipment (-38.1%). Conversely, imports rose by 8.1% to reach EUR 934.1 million, with the increase mainly attributed to higher acquisitions of animal oils and fats (27.1%), mineral fuels, lubricants, and related materials (20%), miscellaneous manufactured articles (10.2%), and beverages and tobacco (9.8%).
