Producer prices in Sri Lanka experienced a year-on-year decline of 3.6% in March 2025, marking the sixth consecutive month of decreases. This follows a 4.6% drop observed in February. The primary contributors to this decrease were significant deflation in the utility sector, which fell by 26.5%, and a 3.4% reduction in manufacturing. Conversely, agricultural producer prices saw an increase of 1.6%. On a month-to-month basis, producer prices rose by 0.2%, consistent with the rate recorded in the prior month.
