France Budge Deficit Narrows in March

In March 2025, France's government budget deficit decreased to EUR 47 billion, compared to EUR 52.8 billion in the same month of the previous year. Revenues experienced a year-on-year increase of 6.9%, reaching EUR 77.6 billion. During the same period, expenditures remained steady at EUR 112.8 billion. Additionally, the Treasury's special accounts, which monitor the balance of targeted inflows and outflows—such as those from local government—reported a deficit of EUR 11.8 billion. This marks an improvement from the EUR 12.6 billion shortfall recorded in the same timeframe the prior year.
