In April 2025, Mexico experienced a significant 9.1% decrease in car production, totaling 326,069 units, compared to the same month the previous year. This downturn comes after a notable 12.1% production increase in March, making it the most pronounced decline since March 2024. Among the leading manufacturers, Stellantis (which includes Chrysler and Fiat) experienced the most severe drop, with output plummeting by 46.7% to 21,069 vehicles. Following Stellantis, BMW saw a 27.1% reduction to 5,282 units, Volkswagen's production fell by 18.8% to 29,235 units, General Motors decreased by 11.6% to 72,562 units, and Nissan declined by 10% to 50,289 units. Other brands, such as Audi, recorded an 8.7% decrease to 14,002 units, KIA's production dropped by 3.9% to 23,250 units, and Mercedes-Benz saw a marginal decline of 0.9% to 4,700 units. Conversely, Honda witnessed a significant increase in production by 27.8% to 17,429 units, Toyota by 27% to 27,256 units, and Ford Motor reported a slight rise of 0.3% to 38,505 units. Overall, when looking at the period from January to April 2025, car production showed a modest growth of 0.94%.
