On Friday, Frankfurt's DAX surged by 0.7%, surpassing the 23,500 mark to set a new all-time high, bolstering the gains witnessed on Thursday and aligning with the upward trajectory in global markets. This uptick was prompted by the completion of the US-UK trade agreement, which has bolstered expectations for advancement in a wider US-EU deal. Market participants are now focusing on the imminent US-China negotiations, while also keeping a keen eye on corporate earnings reports. Leading the gains were Siemens Energy, Daimler Truck, Bayer, Merck, BMW, and Mercedes Benz Group, each rising between 1.7% and 2.9%. Commerzbank’s shares experienced a modest increase of 0.6%, notwithstanding the lender’s report of a better-than-expected net profit in the first quarter.
