Indonesia Motorbike Sales Rise 3% in April

In April 2025, motorbike sales in Indonesia experienced a 3% year-on-year increase, reaching 406,691 units. This marks a significant recovery from a 7.2% decline the previous month. Despite this annual growth, sales faced a substantial monthly decrease of 24.9% in April, following a 6.8% drop in March, largely due to weakened purchasing power resulting from job cuts in some companies. Last year, sales rose by 1.5%, totaling 6.3 million units, aligning with the Association of Indonesian Motorcycle Industry's (AISI) forecast range of 6.2 to 6.5 million units. For 2025, AISI projects motorbike sales to fall within 6.4 to 6.7 million units before the government introduces an additional motorbike tax.
