In March 2025, Spain experienced a noteworthy 1% increase in industrial production compared to the same month the previous year. This marks a significant recovery from February's 1.9% decrease, effectively ending a two-month streak of declining figures. The rebound was largely fueled by a substantial surge in energy production, which escalated to 6.8% from a mere 0.6% in the previous month. Additionally, there was a positive turnaround in the production of capital goods, which climbed by 0.1% after a 4.3% dip, and intermediate goods, which rose by 1.1% following a 0.4% fall. Conversely, the output of consumer goods decreased by 1.7%, compared to a 2.2% drop in February, mainly due to a decline in non-durable goods production, down by 1.2% relative to a previous 2.2% reduction. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production increased by 0.9% in March, continuing the momentum of February’s 0.7% rise.
