Hungary Industrial Output Stalled in March

In March 2025, industrial production in Hungary showed no year-on-year growth, maintaining the same level as in the same month of the previous year, according to preliminary estimates. This follows a significant decrease of 8.7% in February. Most manufacturing subsectors experienced a decline in production volume, with the electrical equipment sector leading the downturn. However, sectors such as vehicle manufacturing, and the production of computers, electronic and optical products, as well as food, beverages, and tobacco, reported increased output. On a seasonally adjusted monthly scale, industrial activity experienced a slight uptick of 0.1% in March, recovering modestly from a 1.1% decline in the prior month.
