Belarus Inflation Rate Rises For 4th Month

In April 2025, Belarus experienced an uptick in its annual inflation rate, reaching 6.5%, the highest level observed since February 2023. This represents an increase from March's rate of 5.9%. The acceleration can be primarily attributed to a quicker rise in the prices of services (7.0% compared to 6.6% in March) and food (8.3% compared to 7.5%). Conversely, the cost of non-food items saw a more moderate increase, moving slightly from 3.3% to 3.6%. On a month-to-month basis, the consumer price index (CPI) increased by 1.0%, which is a deceleration from the 1.3% rise reported in March.
