The Baltic Exchange's dry bulk sea freight index, which measures the rates for ships transporting dry commodities, experienced a 0.39% increase, reaching 1,304 on Monday. This marks a recovery from the near three-week low observed last Friday after a decline over the previous four sessions. In particular, the capesize index, applicable to vessels transporting 150,000 tons of cargo such as iron ore and coal, rose by 1.29% to 1,731. Additionally, the supramax index showed a marginal increase of 1 point, reaching 970. Conversely, the panamax index, which typically tracks vessels carrying 60,000-70,000 tons of coal or grains, fell by 0.81% to 1,342 points, hitting its lowest point since April 23.
