In April 2025, South Korea's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased to 2.7%, a drop from 2.9% in March, reverting to the level recorded in February. The count of unemployed individuals declined by 3.4% compared to the same period the previous year, equivalent to a reduction of 31,000 people, resulting in a total of 854,000 unemployed in April. Concurrently, employment figures showed a rise of 0.7%, or 194,000 additional employed persons, bringing the total employment to 28.89 million compared to last year. Additionally, the labor force participation rate slightly increased to 65.1% in April from 64.6% in March.
